Stamp Out Hunger – Saturday May 14

It’s hard to believe, but nearly 50 million people in the US (including 17.2 million kids) are at risk of hunger. That’s just one fact I learned from the website for Stamp Out Hunger, the food drive sponsored by US Postal Service workers, taking place this coming Saturday. The program bills itself as America’s largest single-day food drive.

Donating couldn’t be easier. You don’t even need to leave home.

Here’s how it works:

(1) On Saturday May 14, Postal Service customers leave non-perishable food items in bags by their mailboxes.

(2) Letter carriers pick up the bags when they deliver mail.

(3) Donations get distributed to local food banks.
