I haven’t bought shampoo in a decade, and not because I’m hygiene-challenged or bald. Rather, why pay for it when hotels give away those tiny bottles for free? Call me chintzy to take home a once-used bottle, but I see it as defending the environment. The bottles still have plenty of life in ‘em, and if I don’t take them they’re only going to get thrown away, right?
Actually, that is right. I was shocked to learn that the vast majority of hotels in the US have no recycling program, meaning that untold millions of these plastic bottles end up in landfills each year.
