“Spike it,” took on a whole new meaning for passengers on Delta Airlines flights out of Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport, who found needles in their sandwiches.
The sandwiches, destined for business class on US-bound flights departing July 15, were provided by in-flight catering company Gate Gourmet. Delta spokeswoman Kristin Baur reports a total of 6 “foreign objects (described as needles)” on the four flights. “One passenger reported minor injury,” Baur said.
