Everyone in Japan knows the black cat logo on Yamato Transport's delivery vans.

Imagine a place where, instead of schlepping suitcases through airports, security lines, cramped storage bins, train stations, up and down stairs and in and out of car trunks, you could ship them. You could save your (company’s) money on taxis, airline baggage fees and rental cars, avoid unpredictable traffic by taking public transport, and bypass check-in lines.

That place already exists. It’s called Japan.

Since the 1970s, Japanese have been shipping luggage overnight and door to door, and now some American courier services are getting into the act.
